More Battles
Apropos my Bitter Southerner piece, I received an email from a friend of a friend detailing the travails of a relative of his who was a Confederate POW, complete with photograph. I love this sort of thing, so I'm posting it here:
My great grandfather, Lewis Madison Parker was captured on the day Atlanta fell. Somewhere in my files I have copies of his POW records. He was captured in ATL, then moved to a Union prison camp in Nashville, then to Cincinnati, and finally ended up in New York by the time the war ended and he was released.
